Chrysler Financial has announced a $1 billion investment in Georgia’s creative financial staffing sector, the company said Thursday.
The new $1.4 billion investment will bring Georgia’s staffing to more than 15,000 employees in more than 300 locales, including Atlanta, Athens, and the University of Georgia.
Chrysler Financial is partnering with Atlanta-based Creative Financial, which employs more than 200 people in Georgia.
Creative Financial employs more, and is one of three companies that Chrysler plans to invest in in Georgia over the next five years, the announcement said.
The investment is the latest in a series of investments by Chrysler, the nation’s largest automaker, to invest more in Georgia, where it has invested billions of dollars in its U.S. operations.
In the past decade, Chrysler has made significant investments in Georgia including in manufacturing facilities in Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Kennesaw.
The company also invested in Georgia through its Georgia regional expansion program, the first of its kind, and recently opened a $2 billion facility in the state.
Chrysler has been expanding its operations in Georgia with a new Georgia Regional Center in Smyrna.
In its announcement, Chrysler said the Georgia facility will help provide more flexibility for local workers to reach their full potential and expand their creative careers.
Chrysler also said it will be hiring up to 700 full-time positions at the facility.
